Born in 1998 and raised in a sleepy costal town in Massachusetts, Sophia DeStefano creates work that applies her life to the world around her; centering around disability culture or beckoning to global places. Using monochrome color palettes to emphasize forms of memory and how the human condition is altered in the digital age, she works in mediums from printmaking to photography. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Art degree in studio arts with a concentration in photography and video production, as well as minors in both art history and anthropology. Currently, she is working for a museum in her home city. Her work can be found in a VSCO editorial titled 'Musical Portraiture' (2020).
